Piraeus Bank announces that it has been certified once more, according to the international PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards), which lies on security of online transactions using credit and debit cards.
This certification is a well-known standard and compliance obligation for all parties involved in card data management, such as merchants, credit institutions, organizations, companies, etc.
Furthermore, it enhances the security and trust levels for the Bank's customers, shareholders and partners. The PCI DSS reassessment was performed by Trustwave Ltd, one of the leading security solutions and certification providers.
It is noted that Piraeus Bank is the only bank in Greece and the broader geographic region that is PCI DSS certified, demonstrating in practice our dedication to online transactions in which the Bank has significantly invested.
The PCI DSS enables the Bank to obtain direct certification for the majority of merchants, businesses and organizations cooperating with it in online payment processing and clearing transactions without any further action required on their part.
