Piraeus Bank Group was awarded one more important international distinction for the successful integration of IT systems and the operational integration of five banks in just 14 months, a record time at international level.
Specifically, within the framework of the World Congress on Information Technology "WCIT 2014", which took place in Guadalajara, Mexico, the World Information Technology and Services Alliance awarded Piraeus Bank the Merit Winner Award in the category "Private Sector ICT Excellence Award ''.
This Organization was established in 1978 and is a joint venture enterprise of 80 IT business associations from all around the world, which today represent more than 90% of the global technology market. As part of its work, WITSA has established the"WITSA Global ICT Excellence Awards", which are awarded every two years. The awards aim to bring forth the best companies and the best Information and Communication Technologies users worldwide, who are distinguished for their achievements in terms of Information and Communication Technologies applications in the public sector, the private sector, the creation of digital opportunities and sustainable development.
The nomination of Piraeus Bank was strongly supported by the Association of Information and Communications Association (SEA), withintheframeworkofits strategic direction, which aims to bring forth initiatives, applications and business practices that will highlight the modern digital face of Greece internationally, while stressing the growth potential of the Information and Communication Technologies sector in our country.
