Piraeus Bank Continues the Actions for Supporting SME Enterpreneurship

Piraeus Bank proceeds to the direct funding of SMEs, at the amount of 100 mil. Euros.

This action is part of the agreement signed yesterday by the Hellenic Investment Fund (IfG) and Piraeus Bank. The Hellenic Investment Fund is funded by the Greek State and the German Development Bank KfW.

Through this agreement, the IfG sub-fund for SMEs which was created in order to flexibly grant loans on competitive terms is activated.

Piraeus Bank, within the framework of an organized refunding planning of the Greek Economy, focusing on SME entrepreneurship including a series of actions that have already been announced, will proceed already from December, to the granting of the aforementioned loans.

These loans:

-Will offer an attractive interest rate – lower than that of the market. The difference will be significant, especially for small enterprises.

-Will finance new activities, while there is the possibility of refunding existing loans on the preferential terms of the action.

The planning of the Bank includes, among others, from the 100 mil. Euros corresponding to it, according to the above program, the funding of the largest possible number of companies that belong to this category.

The funding will be carried out through a selection, ensuring that it will be addressed to healthy businesses, whose competitiveness is burdened by the high interest rates of the period we are going through.

As the Ministry of Development and Competitiveness announced yesterday, from these funds over the next 7years, loans totally amounting to 600 - 800 mil. Euros are expected to be granted.

Piraeus Bank, traditionally supporting SME entrepreneurship in our country, will make everything possible in order to make this program succeed, as it considers that it constitutes an important action for these businesses, which are the backbone of Greek economy.
