Resources consumption

Piraeus Group monitors and manages the impacts it has on the environment and calculates its annual “carbon footprint”. It sets targets to reduce emissions from its operations, lending, and investments.

Resources consumption

At Piraeus Bank, the overall reduction observed in recent years in the consumption of paper, ink cartridges, and toner largely reflects the improvement in the environmental behavior of the Bank’s employees, as well as the effectiveness of coordinated paper/toner-saving initiatives and the increased use of digital tools across the branch network. These include, among others, remote signing, digital signatures, electronic transmission of contracts and offers, avoidance of printing through the use of Managed Print Services (MPS) in administration buildings, reduced printing of ATM receipts, electronic banking services, and the discontinuation of passbook updates and the mailing of printed statements for personal deposit accounts.
